HESLER, Walter Scott

Failing to recover from a stroke suffered some time ago, Walter S. Hesler, 74, died at 7 p.m. Friday, June 12, 1942, at his home in Sterling. Son of Jacob and Susan Tinsley Hesler, he was born Sept 24 1867, near Hillsboro, Ind. He was married July 26 1886, to Miss Elizabeth A. Ingersoll, who survives. He farmed all his adult life until retiring 10 years ago. He was a member of New Liberty Christian Church. Surviving in addition to his wife are four daughters, Miss Velma Hesler of Alburquerque, N. Mex., Mrs. Reba Gentry of Peoria, Ill., Mrs. Kate Welch of Carbondale and Mrs. Mina Banta of Veedersburg, and two sons, Algy of Lewisburg, Pa., and Clayton B. of Danville, Ill. A daughter preceded him in death. Funeral was at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the residence. Burial in Bonebrake Cemetery.
